Money Matters
Citizens Advice LeicesterShire ran a Money Matters programme in July 2018 for Students at Stephenson Studio School, the funding was obtained from Leicestershire County Council’s SHIRE’s grant.
Money Matters is an early intervention workshop that increases young peoples confidence to handle money.
The Workshops cover topics such as:
- attitudes to money
- confidence building
- budgeting
- avoiding debt
- understanding credit
- how to access help
Citizens Advice leicesterShire engaged with 18 students over 2 2-day sessions. This training was followed by a further 2 2-days training for 7 young people to become Peer Mentors.
After their training the Peer Leaders decided they would design materials to show what they had learnt and have a stall in Stephenson College to share this learning with other students.
